New Jersey requires all commercial trades, including plumbing, electrical and HVACR, to obtain a license before bidding on or performing any work. The Business and Law exam is a mandatory component of the licensing process and accompanies each trade’s technical exam. HVACR statute and law review is also included in the five-hour course.
For certain trades, such as HVACR, the Business and Law exam includes additional statutes specific to that field, though the core content remains consistent across all versions.
